Social Knit in East Finchley - Worldwide Knit in Public Day June 02, 2015 17:24 1 Comment

What could be better than a bit of knitting in one of North London’s loveliest pubs. We’re hosting a social knitting afternoon for Worldwide Knit in Public Day. If you’re already a knitter, just bring your own project or yarn and use it as a chance to knit in the company of others. If you’ve never knitted before we’ll have some really big needles for you to borrow, and we all pitch in to help you learn to cast on, cast off and knit a few rows.

We can't supply yarn but here’s a link to buy jersey yarn for £6. It's an excellent yarn to start with - one cone is more than enough to get you started http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/brand/boodles

Or for a real life shop visit Nest in Crouch End at 102 Weston Park, London, N8 9PP

The Bald Faced Stag is just a minute walk from East Finchley Tube on the Northern line. There’s a great food and drink, lovely staff and if the weather is nice there’s a leafy little garden.

Worldwide Knit in Public Day is Saturday 13th June 2015 at the Bald Faced Stag, 69 High Street East Finchley, N2 8AB  and we'll be knitting from 2.00 - 3.30pm. RSVP to info@londoncraftclub.co.uk saying if you'd like to borrow needles.

Last of all here is a photomontage of me accidentally making a knitted plastercast. It was supposed to be a cut-off glove/wrist-warmer but you can see for yourself how it turned out...
