Meet Charlie - one of our brilliant textile designers. She is also the founder of Nani Nana, a happy, colorful and independant label from France. Charlie crafts using mainly natural materials and creates beautiful wall hangings and macrame plant holders, to name just a few of her creations.
We chatted the other day about her experiences running workshops, here is a snippet of our conversation:
How best would you describe your creative style?
My style is minimal and naive. I love soft fabrics and pastel colours.
What do you enjoy most about crafting?
The thing I enjoy the most is definitely the amazing effect is has on the mind and the body. Crafts are extremely therapeutic and I love just switching off designing things.
What’s the strangest thing you have ever made?
The strangest thing I have ever made was probably some plant hanger made with paper straws. Don't ask!
What inspires you the most?
Everything around me inspires me, colours, patterns, textures, people. It is amazing how everything around us is inspiring, and interesting.
Why do you enjoy hosting workshops?
I enjoy hosting workshops because it is amazing to meet different people with different stories and put them together around the same table. Most of my students would have never met in real life, and it is interesting to observe their behaviour and personality in a creative context.
It is also very enjoyable to share my passion, and make people realise they can do anything with their hands!
