Sonia
Meet Sonia, founder of London Craft Club. Sonia studied Glass Blowing and Sculpture at art college and worked as an artist for many years. She’s always made her own clothes and picks up any new craft she can. Sonia is also a specialist in how charities, businesses and schools can work together on inspiring and creative projects.
Back in 2014 she started teaching craft workshops, and London Craft Club has grown steadily ever since. From humble beginnings as a kitchen table business, now you'll find London Craft Club at it's beautiful home in Bedford Square

What do you like about teaching ?
So many things! I love the challenge of explaining things to people, working out simple and clear ways to help them get the hang of things. Plus I love encouraging people to do something they didn’t think they could do.

Who or what inspired you to take up a creative career?
My granny was a glass artists, who gave me lots of uncompromising advise but had faith in me to keep at it. Plus my son, who reminds me of the importance of focusing on what makes you happy at every possible opportunity.

What’s your favourite part of London?
I’m not a Londoner originally so just the idea of London is still wonderful to me – but a treat for me is a day spent meandering along my favourite trail of Soho fabric shops. I always tweet my lust list when I go!
