Brush Lettering and Exhibition Tour

When and Where

17th March 2.00 - 4.00pm at The Jewish Museum, London

(Can't make this date? Try our Brush Lettering class  in Islington)

Part of Designs on Britain at the Jewish Museum, 19 October 2017 - 15 April 2018

First you'll take a fascinating tour of the Designs on Britain exhibition, where you can see some of the greatest designs by Hans Unger, FHK Henrion and Dorrit Dekk

Designing a typeface is infinitely harder than it looks. The ones we use every day are popular because they are technically brilliant - the simpler they look the more skill it takes to get them right. In this one and half hour workshop, Shoshana Bratton of Shoshy Cadoodle will introduce you to the key techniques of brush lettering. Explore how letters are formed and try your hand at developing a style of your own. Brush lettering is freer and more improvised than designing a font for print, but you'll be using the same principals to form words with a mix of technique and creative fun. You'll leave with brush lettering skills and a new respect for the typefaces we see around us every day!
