Print your own colourful floaty Summer scarf this year with accessories designer Suzie Kemner of Suzie London. What could be more rewarding than printing your own textiles? Imagine knowing how to simply and easily create your own fabric prints whenever and wherever you want. Seen a cushion design you want? Recreate it yourself! Got a picture in your head of your dream Summer wrap but can’t find it in the shops? Print up your own. Want to make the perfect bespoke present …. You get it, the possibilities are endless!
Here at London Craft Club we’re delighted to be collaborating with homewares and accessories designer Suzie Kemner to bring you this chiffon scarf block printing workshop. Suzie is the creative vision behind Suzie London, and has plenty of experience teaching design and print skills too.
You’ll start by experimenting with collage to plan your design, helped along by tips, tools and ideas from Suzie. You can use our templates or create your own design, and we’ll focus on simple and elegant designs so you can finish your print in the session.
Next we’ll show you simple ways to create your printing stamps at home, so that you can recreate the techniques over and over. After a pause for coffee and cake, you’ll block print your designs onto a white chiffon scarf (don’t worry you’ll get a fe practice gos first!) You may have to leave your printed scarf with us to dry for half an hour, but as the workshop is right in the London Artisan market, in the heart of the Old Truman Brewery, there are markets and shops galore to keep you entertained
There’s lots of support and guidance on designing something that looks great, so it doesn’t matter if you’ve no crafty experience or don’t think you’re creative! It’s really friendly – don’t worry about coming on your own, there's always plenty to chat about!
After the class we’ll be on Instagram so we can share our designs from the craft workshop and beyond with each other. Plus we have a monthly crafty meetup to share what we’ve been making, troubleshoot your craft and just hang out and chat.
Craft workshops are the perfect way to fire up your creativity and create gorgeous, unique things for you and your home!
