Cast Your Own Jesmonite Jewellery
All our Jesmonite Workshops will be held at our studio;
London Craft Club, 20 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3HH
Get ready to meet your new favourite material, Jesmonite. What is Jesmonite I hear you ask? Well it’s a cross between concrete and resin, that can be coloured and used to create awesome effects like terrazzo and marbling. Intrigued? Then read on...
In this introduction to working with Jesmonite you will learn all about this amazing material from our expert Haidee Drew. She will discuss different applications for Jesmonite, and tell you about the different effects you can achieve.
During the workshop you will get to make a chunky 3D geometric bead to turn into a necklace (hung on some lovely cotton cord), as well as a pair of earrings (if you don’t have pierced ears don’t worry, you can make them into brooches or clip-ons instead!) You can choose from two shapes for your bead, and five different shapes for your earrings/brooches.
Haidee will show you how to mix your Jesmonite and how to colour it, so you will be able to cast your very own jewellery pieces in whichever colours you like! You can also choose which techniques to use - terrazzo, marbling, or colour blocking, so everyone’s jewellery will end up totally unique.
It’s such an amazing material to work with, we know you are going to want to go home and make more pieces for everyone you know! You’ll leave with a finished necklace, a pair of earrings or pair of brooches, plus all the knowledge and skills needed to make lots more.
