June's Flower Crown printable June 01, 2016 22:15

Every month we team up with Hannah Miles of Utensils0 to bring you a printable. For June, Hannah's created this stunning Flower Crown.

You will need
  • These PDFs printed onto white, pink and green card
  • Extra yellow card
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Wire (florist wire would work well)
  • Ribbon
  • Stick or knitting needle to curl with
Starting with the daisy, cut out the petal shapes. The slightly larger daisy goes under the smaller one. Using your stick or knitting needle, curl the petals over for a realistic look. Cut out a yellow circle for the centre; you can even curve this over your finger to give it a 3D shape
Next the peony. Cut out all the petals from the pink card, and curve the petals over your stick to give them a realistic look. Peonies curl back and forth so don't be afraid to do lots of different waves in them
Take the individual petals and glue them together into a bud shape
Then glue the bottom of the bud and stick it into the centre of the smallest petal shape. Close these petals up and squash them around to form a natural look. Repeat this with each set of petals, working from the smaller set to the larger set
Cut out as many leaf shapes as you like. These can be curled over to give them shape
Take your wire and bend it into a curve, glue the ribbon onto each end by wrapping it around. Then cut the ribbon in two in the middle
Now you can arrange your flower crown. Glue a base of leaves on first. If you are finding it hard to stick the leaves on, stick a strip of green card behind the wire. Then glue each flower into place. If you want, you can cut out the small extra flower shapes
Now you're ready to celebrate Midsummer or a day at the festival!
